The gold rush is on to buy and sell scrap gold and gold jewelry. From shopping precincts and TV commercials to a dining room in your road people are getting cash for scrap gold they no longer want.

With gold  prices approaching $1,200 per ounce, pawn brokers, jewelers and precious metals refiners are all promising “cash for gold” and begging us to sell our old gold jewelry.

Selling scrap gold, lots of people are cashing in their old gold in what some are calling the gold rush. The price of gold has passed $1100 an oz is still rising!

So how do you know where you can get the best price for your scrap gold?

Licensed Gold refiner Steve Francis told us it pays to be a smart seller when selling gold, “You’re taking this gold to them, asking, ‘Here’s a pile of money. Count it up for me.‘”

Therefore you should find out as much information about the gold you are selling, before you approach a gold dealer.
